Weight-loss company Golo says websites defamed it, misled customers

PHILADELPHIA — A company specializing in weight-loss plans is suing Highya LLC, Brightreviews LLC, Dmitry Ozik and Vladimir Rappaport, of Washington, alleging the defendants published misleading information about it on their reviews websites.

Golo LLC, based in Delaware, filed a complaint on June 16 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants alleging that they allowed users to post false and misleading reviews of Golo.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it was damaged from the publication of the reviews. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly allowed the posting of the reviews and also misled internet users by attempting to direct them to their websites using the "Golo" mark.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants for compensatory and punitive damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. It is represented by M. Kelly Tillery of Pepper Hamilton LLP in Philadelphia.
