PNC Bank alleges former employee caused transfer of more than $13 million in assets

ERIE – A Pittsburgh-based financial institution alleges a former employee at a Virginia office misappropriated and unlawfully used its confidential information.

PNC Bank, National Association filed a complaint on June 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Valerie Vander Molen alleging breach of contract, violation of the Federal Defend Trade Secrets Act and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendant was hired in 2010 with its Asset Management Group and later resigned to work at SunTrust Bank.

The plaintiff holds Valerie Vander Molen responsible because the defendant allegedly used plaintiff's confidential information to solicit its customer's business and has wrongfully accomplished the transfer of more than $13 million of customers' assets from the plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks enjoin the defendant, compensatory damages, profits, punitive/exemplary damages, court costs, interest and any further relief the court grants. It is represented by Walter P.
