Law money 09

PITTSBURGH – A former consultant for a Pittsburgh natural gas producer has filed a class action lawsuit alleging that he is owed unpaid overtime wages.

Tejon Adams filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on June 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against EQT Corp. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by the defendant from July 2014 to February 2015 as a completions consultant. He alleges he was classified as an independent contractor and paid a day rate with no overtime compensation.

The plaintiff holds EQT Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly allowed the plaintiff to work for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime pay at a rate of time-and-one-half of his regular rate.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid back wages, liquidated damages, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Joshua P. Geist of Goodrich & Geist PC in Pittsburgh.
