NRA Group LLC claimed to have failed to mark alleged debt as disputed

Late 04

PHILADELPHIA – An East Petersburg consumer claims that a debt collector damaged her credit score because it failed to mark an account as disputed.

Shaniqua Ford filed a complaint on July 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against NRA Group LLC, doing business as National Recovery Agency, alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff sent the defendant a dispute letter in October 2016 regarding an alleged medical debt the defendant was attempting to collect. The suit states that when she examined her credit report in January, the defendant had re-reported the account and failed to mark it as disputed by the consumer. She alleges her credit score has been damaged as a result.

The plaintiff seeks actual damages, statutory damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Antranig Garibian of Garibian Law Offices, PC in Philadelphia.
