PHILADELPHIA – A Furlong couple are seeking more than $50,000 in damages after a food processor allegedly caused injury to the wife.

Mashab Morakabati and Amir M. Afshar filed a complaint on Aug. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and General Electric, also known as General Electric Co. alleging product liability and negligence.

According to the complaint, Mashab Morakabati sustained cuts and lacerations to her right hand because of an allegedly dangerous and defective safety interlock system on a General Electric food processor.

The plaintiffs hold Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and General Electric responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to warn of the dangers of the food processor and supplied a processor that was unfit for its intended use.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendants in an amount of more than $50,000. They are represented by John G. Malone in Philadelphia.
