Feds charge Lansdowne man with fraudulent insurance claims

PHILADELPHIA – A Lansdowne man is alleged to have fraudulently obtained annuity benefits from a federal agency.

United States of America filed a complaint on Aug. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Gerald D. Robinson citing the False Claims Act and unjust enrichment.

According to the complaint, the defendant submitted 22 false claims to the U.S. Railroad Retirement Board from Oct. 6, 2016, to July 20, 2017, resulting in his theft of $12,590.31. The plaintiff alleges the defendant submitted sickness insurance claims while gainfully employed by Complete Health Care Services.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney Gregory B. David and Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard M. Bernstein in Philadelphia.
