PITTSBURGH - An Allegheny County man whose daughter suffered a black eye on a trampoline faces a lawsuit after allegedly sucker-punching the father of the girl he blamed.

A lawsuit was filed Jan. 8 against Bryan K. Thomas in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County by William J. Suba and Kristina Suba. The couple are represented by Joseph M. Gaydos, Jr. of Gaydos Law, P.C.

The complaint alleges that on July 6, 2023, Thomas physically assaulted William J. Suba after an incident involving their children playing on a trampoline resulted in Thomas' daughter getting injured.

It is claimed that Thomas blamed the Subas' daughter for the injury and confronted her in a threatening manner to get information about her father.

Thomas then allegedly ambushed and attacked William J. Suba when he was walking to his son's house after work, causing significant injuries that worsened over two days.

The Subas allege William suffered fractures to two vertebrae and had to wear a hard neck brace for 3.5 months. William says he now wears a soft brace multiple times per week.

William filed criminal charges against Thomas, which are still pending.
