PHILADELPHIA - A woman is suing Apollo Scooters, arguing she was injured when the scooter folded and tossed her off.

Apollo Scooters, along with Apollo Imports Inc., is facing a lawsuit filed by Olivia Rojas. The case was filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on Jan. 10.

The alleged incident occurred in May2023 while Rojas was riding her electric scooter, which she had owned since her aunt gifted it to her in October 2021.

Rojas says she was riding it on Broad Street in Philadelphi.

"As she was riding the scooter, the scooter's folding mechanism unexpectedly engaged and the stem collapsed, causing Plaintiff to be thrown from the scooter," the suit says.

"As a result of the incident, Plaintiff sustained injuries including but not limited to an ulnar fracture of her right wrist, functional injuries, and cellulitis of her legs."

Rojas is represented by attorneys Russell P. Lieberman and Allison M. Goldberg from White and Williams LLP based in Philadelphia.
