PHILADELPHIA – A group of employees are suing the Eagleville Hospital claiming that they routinely worked overtime and during their lunch breaks without being compensated.

Chris Snyder, Adrienne Galt and Nancy Murphy filed a class-action lawsuit on Dec. 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Eagleville Hospital alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs routinely worked for more than 40 hours each week at the hospital. After working 40 hours, the plaintiffs qualified for overtime pay at a rate of one and a half times their regular hourly rate. However, the plaintiffs were allegedly denied such payment when they routinely worked for part or all of their unpaid lunch breaks, the complaint states.

The plaintiffs are seeking compensation for unpaid wages, as well as compensation for legal fees. They are represented by David J. Cohen of The David J. Cohen Law Firm LLC in Philadelphia.
