Man sues athletic club over allegations of unpaid overtime

Tennis

PHILADELPHIA — A former worker for an athletic club is suing the company and its owner for allegations of unpaid overtime.

Richard Saddler Jr. filed a lawsuit on March 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Pennsbury Racquet & Athletic Club LLC and Bradley S. Werner, citing violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

According to the complaint, Saddler was hired by the defendant in January 2012, working part-time as a tennis teacher and front desk receptionist. The plaintiff claims that when he transferred to a full-time maintenance worker on March 1, 2015, the defendant failed to pay him proper overtime compensation for all hours exceeding 40 in a workweek.

Saddler seeks compensation for all pay and benefits in accordance with the FLSA, liquidated damages, costs, expenses, and a trial by jury. He is represented by Ari R. Karpf of Karpf, Kaprf & Cerutti PC in Bansalem.
