PHILADELPHIA — A patient is suing a rehabilitation hospital over claims that she was injured as a result of her physician’s negligence.

Marie Bassill filed a lawsuit on April 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital, Main Line Health Care, a/k/a Main Line Health System, and Main Line Hospital System, citing professional and corporate negligence.

According to the complaint, Bassill underwent a vestibular re-evaluation at Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital on April 9, 2014. The plaintiff claims that her physician violently manipulated her neck and head during the procedure, failed to stop the procedure after the plaintiff complained, and did not notify her supervisor of the plaintiff’s alleged pain.

The plaintiff reportedly suffered from headaches and sudden pain during and after the procedure. Bassill avers that the procedure constituted an act of negligence from which she continues to suffer physically and mentally.

Bassill seeks compensatory damages commensurate with her losses. She is represented by Leonard P. Habermas of Clearfield & Kofsky.
