PHILADELPHIA — A former line cook for Bear Creek Mountain Resort is suing the company for allegations of sexual harassment and assault, which she says forced her to leave her position.
Christina Valentine filed a lawsuit on April 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Bear Creek Mountain Real Estate LLC, also known as Bear Creek Mountain Resort, citing violations of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
According to the complaint, Valentine was employed by the defendant as a line cook between Aug. 21, 2014 and Oct. 24, 2014. She claims that her supervisor made aggressive sexual advances to her and sexually violated her. On Oct. 21, 2014, the plaintiff was informed that she was being fired due to her performance. The plaintiff told another supervisor what had happened but was met with retaliation and a hostile work environment, causing her to be constructively discharged, the suit alleges.
Valentine seeks lost pay and benefits, punitive damages, attorney’s fees, and a trial by jury. She is represented by Samuel A. Dion in Philadelphia.
