PITTSBURGH — A onetime airport director is suing former employers Bradford Regional Airport Operating, Bradford Regional Airport Authority, Bradford Airport Advisory Board, Cameron County, Elk County, McKean County and Warren County, citing alleged disability discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination.
Thomas Frungillo, a New York state resident, filed a complaint on May 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they violated provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that due to his health condition, he needed reasonable accommodations and Family and Medical Leave Act qualifying leave. On September 17, 2014, he informed the defendants' management that he required additional time off for his medical condition, the suit says. On that date, he was terminated from his employment without warning and explanation, he alleges. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to accommodate his disabilities, failed to hold his position open for him while he was on leave and terminated his employment for requesting reasonable accommodations.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for all damages, attorney's fees, expenses and costs and any equitable and legal relief the court deems just, proper and appropriate. He is represented by Ari R. Karpf of Karpf, Karpf & Cerutti PC in Bensalem.
