HARRISBURG — A woman is suing PNC Bank NA, a subsidiary of The PNC Financial Services Group Inc., an employer, citing alleged disability discrimination and retaliation.

Ashley Michaels filed a complaint on May 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against the defendant, alleging that the employer denied the plaintiff an accommodation for her medical condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between Jan. 6, 2014 and Oct. 15, 2014, she sought accommodations at work for her disability in the form of a transfer to a part-time position in another branch but was denied. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because the defendant allegedly denied the plaintiff's transfer request and did nothing when supervisors made derogatory statements regarding her disability.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation, reimbursement for all pay and benefits, back pay, front pay, salary, pay increase, bonuses, medical and other benefits, actual damages, liquidated damages, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Gerald J. Hanchulak of The Hanchulak Law Offices, P.C. in Clarks Summit.
