Man says credit reporting agencies spread false information

PHILADELPHIA — A man is suing TransUnion LLC and Equifax Information Services LLC, claiming violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Jack Taskey filed a complaint on July 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they reported inaccurate statements relating to the laintiff's credit history.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was denied various loan applications and extensions of credit as a result of inaccurate credit reports. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly reported inaccurate credit information regarding the plaintiff to third parties.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Mark D. Mailman, John Soumilas and Geoffrey H. Baskerville of Francis & Mailman, P.C. in Philadelphia.
