Man claims defamation in online article

PHILADELPHIA — A man is suing American Radio Relay League Incorporated, Tom Gallagher, Rick Roderick and Dr. James Boehner, citing alleged defamation.

Joseph A. Ames filed a complaint on July 5 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they published an article online that contains false statements about the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages to his reputation including embarrassment and emotional distress. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly published an article online that contained false and misleading statements about him.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $75,000 plus court cost, interest, punitive damages and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Alan L. Frank of Alan L. Frank Law Associates, P.C. in Jenkintown.
