HARRISBURG — A couple's lawsuit against TA Operating LLC and TravelCenters of America LLC, both d/b/a Travelcenters of America and Petro Stopping Centers and Petro Scranton #378, alleges negligence and insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Jeanne Carter and Robert Carter filed a complaint on July 5 in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they failed to maintain their merchandise on display in a way that was safe for their customers.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on July 12, 2014, Jeanne Carter suffered injuries when a metal object that was on display slid off, hitting her head. The plaintiffs holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to properly inspect the condition of the metal objects that were on display in their store in order to avoid any accident.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $75,000 plus court costs and delay damages. They are represented by James M. Wetter of Dougherty, Leventhal & Price L.L.P. in Kingston.
