Stay Safe Alert accused of violating law with monitoring fee

PITTSBURGH — A man is suing Stay Alert Safety Services, a North Carolina company, citing alleged negligent misrepresentation, unfair competition and violation of state law.

Mark B. Aronson filed a complaint on Sept. 19 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Stay Alert Safety Services, alleging it made false claims regarding the monthly charges for their product to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages from being misled into purchasing a product. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because the defendant allegedly charged plaintiff a different amount than expected for the monthly monitoring fee.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant plus punitive damages.
