PHILADELPHIA — An executrix of her deceased husband's estate is suing Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Inc. and Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada, plan administrators, alleging breach of contract.
Barbara Galante, individually and as executrix of the estate of John A. Galante, filed a complaint on Sept. 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they wrongly denied the plaintiff's claim for life insurance benefits.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages from being denied payment under a life insurance policy held by her late husband. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly denied her benefits to which she has rights.
The plaintiff seeks $431,720, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Roman J. Koropey of Lamb McErlane PC in Bryn Mawr.
