PHILADELPHIA — A woman is suing Cousin's Supermarket Inc. No. 3 a/k/a Cousin's Supermarkets, alleging negligence in connection with injuries from a falling display.

Evelyn Lopez filed a complaint on Nov. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Cousin's Supermarkets, alleging that a store had improperly stacked bags of rice.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 23, 2015, she sustained physical injuries when a display of rice fell on her. She holds the defendant responsible for allegedly creating the dangerous situation.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds $75,000 plus compensatory damages, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Richard A. Wolfe of Tabakinwolfe LLP in Plymouth Meeting.
