PA Smartstaff says former employee invented fictitious workers

Law money 07

PITTSBURGH — A Pennsylvania staffing company is suing former employee Matthew Brash, alleging breach of contract and breach of duty.

PA Smartstaff filed a complaint in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Brash, alleging that he created fictitious names to represent them as workers in order to benefit from them.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that PA Smartstaff suffered financial damages to its business. The plaintiff holds Brash responsible because the defendant allegedly created fictitious employees and replaced the direct deposit account number for those employees with his own account number for financial gain.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds $35,000, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. It is represented by Kenneth J. Hardin II of Hardin Thompson, P.C. in Pittsburgh.
