Wawa sued by N.J. woman who says she fell on slippery floor

Courtgavel87

PHILADELPHIA – An Elmer, N.J. woman alleges negligence on the part of Wawa led her to sustain serious injuries in a slip-and-fall accident during a visit to one of the convenience store chain’s branch locations last year.

Lisa Rhodes filed litigation on Jan. 18 in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas, against Wawa of Mullica Hill, N.J.

“On or about Aug. 16, 2016, while on defendant’s premises, plaintiff was caused to slip and fall on a substance that was on the floor, causing serious and permanent personal injuries on account of which this action is brought,” the complaint details.

Rhodes says the defendant permitted the dangerous condition to exist and failure to inspect, repair or properly maintain the store space resulted in the accident and her resultant “serious, permanent and personal” injuries.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs and all other relief.

The plaintiff is represented by Marc I. Simon of Simon & Simon, in Philadelphia.
