SCRANTON — An hourly employee has filed a class action lawsuit against the Charles P. and Margaret E. Polk Foundation, citing alleged unpaid wages and violation of Workers' Compensation acts.

Patricia Ream filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on April 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against the defendant alleging that the organization, which runs health facilities in Millersburg and the surrounding area, failed to pay fair compensation to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was damaged from not being paid overtime wages. The plaintiff holds the Polk Foundation responsible because it allegedly failed to pay minimum wage to the plaintiff by withholding overtime pay.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, liquidated damages, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Derrek W. Cummings and Larry A. Weisberg of McCarthy Weisberg Cummings P.C. in Harrisburg.
