PHILADELPHIA — A former firefighter is suing the Philadelphia Firefighter and Paramedic Union Local 22 of The International Association of Firefighters, and the City of Philadelphia, alleging violation of state law and Workers' Compensation acts.

Andrew Addeo filed a complaint on May 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants alleging that they refused to process the plaintiff's grievance with the department and city.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was damaged from having his grievance intentionally and maliciously dropped. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly refused to process his grievance according to the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants for monetary damages, compensatory damages, liquidated damages, exemplary and punitive damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by J. Stephen Woodside of J. Stephen Woodside P.C. in Bala Cynwyd.
