PHILADELPHIA — A consumer is suing Credit Control LLC and JH Portfolio Debt Equities LLC, alleging misrepresentation in debt collection.

Edward B. Transue filed a complaint on May 24 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants alleging that they wrongly contacted the plaintiff directly regarding his debt.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was damaged from being contacted directly by a debt collector despite notifying the collection agencies that all communication should go to his representation. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly contacted the plaintiff directly for a credit card debt that the plaintiff disputes

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants for actual damages, statutory damages in the amount of $1,000, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Douglas M. Marinos of The Law of Business P.C. in Allentown.
