PHILADELPHIA — A Utah woman has filed a class action lawsuit against Healthcare Services Group Inc. and JD Palatine LLC, alleging violation of federal law for their practices in publishing consumer information.

Machelle Bitton filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on June 8 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, which are based in Bensalem and Pittsburgh, respectively, alleging that they reported inaccurate consumer reports.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was damaged from having her employment terminated because of information the defendants published. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because her employer allegedly terminated her employment based on inaccurate credit reports.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual, statutory and punitive damages, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by James A. Francis, John Soumilas and David A. Searles of Francis & Mailman P.C. in Philadelphia.
