SCRANTON – An estate representative has filed suit against several parties after the decedent was killed in a plane crash.

Sandra Lynn Downing, individually and as personal representative of the estate of Brian Downing, and on behalf of Kristyl Downing and James Downing filed a complaint on Aug. 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against Blair Losvar, personal representative of the estate of Albert E. Losvar; Lycoming, a division of AVCO Corp., a subsidiary of Textron Aviation Inc.; Cessna Aircraft Co., a subsidiary of Textron Aviation Inc.; and  John Does 1-20 alleging injuries and wrongful death.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Brian Downing was killed as a passenger in a plane crash in August 2015. The suit states the plane involved in the crash was a Cessna T182T with a Lycoming model engine and that Albert Losvar was the pilot.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to issue proper warnings and guidelines related to the maintenance of the aircraft.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages, punitive damages, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Alisa Brodkowitz of Friedman/Rubin in Seattle and Clifford A. Rieders of Rieders, Travis, Humphry, Waters & Dohrmann in Williamsport.
