Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC seeks declaration in vacation time matter

Law money 06

ERIE – A Pittsburgh-based general practice law firm alleges that it owes no additional sums for unpaid time off to two former shareholders and counsel.

Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC filed a complaint on Aug. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Keith Solar, Robert Parks and Robert Edmunds seeking declaratory judgment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendants regularly took paid vacation or personal time without properly recording it in the plaintiff's time-keeping system. The plaintiff states that the defendants have sent correspondence to it asserting that they are entitled for accrued but unused vacation pay.

The plaintiff is seeking judgment in this matter so that "it may determine its rights and ongoing duties to payout accrued paid off benefits according to its records," the suit states.

The plaintiff seeks court costs and any further relief the court grants. It is represented by Theodore A. Schroeder and Allison R. Brown of Littler Mendelson PC in Pittsburgh.
