ERIE – A man has filed a lawsuit against Rice Energy seeking allegedly unpaid back wages.

Tim Phillips filed a complaint on behalf of himself and all others similarly situated on Aug. 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Rice Energy Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff has worked for the defendant since 2014 as a completion consultant. He alleges he was misclassified an independent contractor while working for the defendants.
