Former Leidos LLC, CT Corporation System employee alleges disability discrimination

PHILADELPHIA – A Levittown resident alleges she was discriminated against because of her race and disability by her former employers.

Caribe A. Giscombe filed a complaint on Sept. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the Leidos LLC and CT Corporation System alleging disability discrimination, breach of contract and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was hired by the defendants in July 2010. The suit states she had surgery in October 2012 and needed to eat small snacks and have stretch breaks as an accommodation. She alleges the defendants refused this request and offered not alternative. The suit states she was discharged in August 2015 on the allegations that she was unable to do her job.

The plaintiff also alleges she was harassed because of her Mexican national origin and because her husband is African-American. She alleges she reported the harassment but it continued.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and punitive damages, court costs, back pay, liquidated damages and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Sommer Miller of The Law Offices of Sommer Miller LLC in Philadelphia.
