Strike 3 Holdings alleges BitTorrent user has distributed 36 films online

PHILADELPHIA – The owner of adult films alleges that an unknown BitTorrent user has unlawfully distributed 36 of its films.

Strike 3 Holdings LLC filed a complaint on Nov. 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against John Doe subscriber assigned IP address 73.233.11.131 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is the owner of award-winning, acclaimed adult motion pictures.

The plaintiff holds John Doe subscriber assigned IP address 73.233.11.131 responsible because the defendant allegedly used the BitTorrent file distribution network to make unauthorized copies of 36 of plaintiff's motion pictures and distributed them using the same application. The plaintiff alleges it has used IP address geolocation technology to determine the defendant resides in the court's district.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendant, order the defendant to permanently delete all digital medial files relating to plaintiff's works, order the defendant to remove infringing copies of plaintiff's work, statutory damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants.
