Consumer claims Central Financial Control failed to mark alleged debt as disputed, lowered credit score

Late 04

PHILADELPHIA – A Philadelphia woman alleges her credit score was lowered because of the actions of a debt collector.

Stefanie Carter, also known as Stefanie Carteror or Stefanie Crowder, filed a complaint on Jan. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Syndicated Office Systems LLC, doing business as Central Financial Control, alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she disputed an alleged debt with the defendant and that the defendant re-reported the account to the credit bureaus in February 2017 without listing it as disputed by the consumer.

The plaintiff holds Syndicated Office Systems LLC, doing business as Central Financial Control, responsible because she alleges her credit score suffered and was lowered because of the defendant's failure to remove or mark the trade line as disputed.

The plaintiff seeks actual damages, statutory damages, court costs, declaratory relief, and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Antranig Garibian of Garibian Law Offices PC in Philadelphia.
