BitTorrent user purportedly residing in state alleged to have unlawfully distributed Malibu Media films

PHILADELPHIA – A Motion picture owner claims a "habitual and persistent BitTorrent user and copyright infringer" unlawfully distributed its movies online.

Malibu Media LLC filed a complaint on Jan. 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against John Doe subscriber assigned IP address 73.188.178.73 alleging that the unknown individual made copies of plaintiff's motion picture without authority.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendant downloaded, copied and distributed its works without authorization using BitTorrent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendant, an order for the defendant to delete and remove digital media files relating to the plaintiff's work, statutory damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. It is represented by Alfred Jordan Rushie of Rushie Law PLLC in Philadelphia.
