PHILADELPHIA — An individual is suing Fulton Financial Corporation for allegedly violating the Family and Medical Leave Act.

Chimene Sterner filed a complaint on March 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendant terminated her employment for going on FMLA-protected leave.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was terminated from her position as a loan processor in 2017 after she allegedly went on medical leave to address her medical emergency. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly accusing her of accessing her ex-husband's bank account when in fact they allegedly terminated her for going on medical leave.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant for back pay and benefits, reinstatement, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Steve T. Mahan, Derrek W. Cummings, Larry A. Weisberg and Stephen P. Gunther of McCarthy Weisberg Cummings P.C. in Harrisburg, Pa.
