Visa U.S.A. Inc. accused of violating telephone harassment statutes

PHILADELPHIA — A woman is suing Visa U.S.A. Inc. for allegedly violating telephone harassment statutes.

Tiffany Allen filed a complaint on March 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendant sent several unwanted text messages to her cellular telephone.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages due to allegedly receiving several unwanted text messages on her cellular telephone. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly sending over 100 text messages to her despite her request to stop.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages, treble damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Mark D. Mailman and Alexis I. Lehmann of Francis & Mailman P.C. in Philadelphia.
