Former employee accuses Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission of firing him because he is Indian

SCRANTON — An individual is suing the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission for alleged racial discrimination and wrongful termination.

Biju George filed a complaint on April 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendant violated the Civil Rights Act and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was subjected to various racially discriminatory acts throughout his employment with the defendant because he is Indian.

Despite allegedly filing numerous complaints, the defendant allegedly failed to put an end to the discriminatory acts.

The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly engaging in unlawful discriminatory employment practices by allegedly failing to stop its officers from making racially derogatory remarks and for allegedly allowing him to be terminated because of his race.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks punitive and compensatory damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, the costs of the suit and any further relief that is deemed just and proper. He is represented by Sidney L. Gold of Sidney L. Gold & Associates PC in Philadelphia.
