First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union allegedly fired employee based on false information from investigator

Wrongful term 06

PHILADELPHIA — An individual is suing her former employer, First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union, and Confidential Investigations Inc. for alleged wrongful discharge.

Monica Bell filed a complaint on April 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendants violated the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Pennsylvania Banking and Securities Code.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was fired from her job for allegedly taking intermittent leave to take care of her parents. She claims that she was fired based on inaccurate information furnished by Confidential Investigations Inc., a private investigations firm. As a result, she claims that she has suffered financial damages, embarrassment, mental anguish and damage to her reputation. The plaintiff holds First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union responsible for allegedly retaliating against her by terminating her employment. She also holds Confidential Investigations Inc. responsible for allegedly supplying false information.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, litigation costs and all other equitable relief. She is represented by Anthony Giletto of Kraemer, Manes & Associates LLC in Philadelphia.
