Patient claims Crisis Center at Crozer's negligence led to unwanted encounter

MEDIA - A patient is suing Prospect CCMC LLC, doing business as Crisis Center at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, and related entities, citing alleged negligent supervision.

Alicia Czukiewski filed a complaint May 16 in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas, alleging that the defendants failed to ensure the safety of their patients.

According to the complaint, Czukiewski was allegedly touched in an inappropriate and unwanted manner when she was a patent at the defendants' facility on Jan. 16, 2017. The plaintiff claims she suffered psychological, behavioral and emotional injuries, post traumatic stress, anxiety and depression and incurred and will continue to incur medical expenses as a result of the alleged incident.

Czukiewski said the defendants should be held responsible because they allegedly failed to implement a system for keeping patients from leaving their rooms and gaining access other patients' rooms.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs, pre-judgment interest and other relief. She is represented by Justin Bernstein of Kenneth Schuster & Associates PC in Media.
