Former Red Roof Inn employee alleges hostile work environment

Wrongful term 10

PHILADELPHIA — A former employee is suing a hotel chain, citing alleged discrimination and hostile work environment.

Julia Cole filed a complaint on Dec. 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Red Roof Inns Inc., alleging violation of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act.

According to the complaint, on April 30, 2017, Julia Cole was compelled to quit her job after nearly 20 years of excellent performance and loyalty to defendant due to alleged continuous harassment made by defendant's General Manager Jeff Hernandez.

Plaintiff alleges Hernandez imposed numerous jobs without any budget, and for which she was compelled to do virtually all of the manual labor herself. As a result, plaintiff claims she was humiliated, embarrassed and lost enjoyment of life's pleasures.

The plaintiff holds Red Roof Inns Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly made unlawful employment practices by harassing and discriminating plaintiff until she was compelled to quit her job.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for damages, reinstatement, and any other relief the Court deems just and equitable. She is represented by Albert Michell of Albert J. Michell PC in Philadelphia.

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Case No. is 2:18-cv-05321-AB.
