Virgin Islands company cites Carnegie Mellon in revenue dispute

A Virgin Islands company is suing Carnegie Mellon University, alleging failure to pay for services used to establish a university program in the Russian province of Tartarstan.

Pacifilanza filed a lawsuit, Feb. 27 in U.S. District Court in the Western District of Pennsylvania against Carnegie Mellon University and iCarnegie, its international incubator.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is entitled to 5 percent of revenue generated by the creation of an Innopolis University Project in the city of Kazan.

Pacifilanza demands a jury trial and damages in excess of $75,000, as well as interest, court fees and attorney costs. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Manning J. O'Connor of Burns White in Pittsburgh.
