A Mechanicsburg couple has sued BMW for fire damage allegedly caused by a faulty BMW motorcycle sold to the couple.

Parvez and Razia Yazdani filed a lawsuit filed Feb. 13 in Philadelphia County Common Pleas Court, then transferred March 19 to U.S. District Court Eastern District of Pennsylvania, against BMW of North America and BMW Motorrad USA.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 25, 2013, the plaintiffs suffered "fire damage to their residence at 1200 Windsor Road and personal property as a result of a defective motorcycle distributed by the defendants."

The plaintiffs seek damages in excess of $400,000, plus costs. They are represented by attorney Patrick Hughes of Blue Bell.
