Woman says Verde keeps calling her

HARRISBURG - A Butler woman who's been paying a long stream of incoming cellphone calls is suing a company that keeps calling her back.

Shannon Wolfe filed a complaint June 15 in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against Verde Energy USA Inc. It is similar to other lawsuits being filed against Verde.

Wolfe, who incurs a charge for each incoming cellular phone call she receives, began receiving calls from the defendant in January and continues to receive them, according to the lawsuit.

The plaintiff, citing violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, seeks unspecified actual damages, as well as statutory and treble damages of $500 and $1,500, per each "violative telephone call," respectively.

The plaintiff is represented by Craig Thor Kimmel of Kimmel and Silverman P.C. in Ambler.

U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania case number 2:15-cv-00757-CB.
