Attorneys with high profile Philadelphia personal injury law firm Wapner, Newman, Wigrizer, Brecher & Miller have filed a civil complaint on behalf of a city woman who claims she sustained a host of bodily injuries, including bone fractures and contusions, as a result of having fallen on property owned by a local community development corporation.
Attorney Robert S. Miller filed the injury claim April 20 at the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas on behalf of Henrietta Fridman of Philadelphia’s Overbrook section.
The defendant listed in the lawsuit is The Enterprise Center Community Development Corporation.
According to the complaint, Fridman was walking along the development corporation’s property at 4548 Market St. in downtown Philadelphia on April 5 of last year when she suddenly fell as a result of a negligently maintained and defective condition on the premises.
The suit doesn’t spell out what it was specifically about the condition of the property that allegedly caused the plaintiff’s fall.
As a result of the incident, Fridman suffered injuries including a leg fracture, knee sprains and contusions, as well as injuries to her head, neck, back, bones, tissues, muscles and nerves.
Fridman has also undergone great physical pain and mental anguish as a result of her fall, the lawsuit claims, and she has had to spend large sums of money to treat her injuries.
The plaintiff, the suit claims, has also suffered a loss of earnings due to her inability to work following the slip-and-fall incident.
Fridman demands judgment against the defendant in a sum in excess of the jurisdictional limit, which is $50,000 in state court.
A jury trial is being demanded.
The case ID number is 120402446.
