The administrator of a Philadelphia woman's estate is suing over claims a restaurant's mozzarella sticks damaged the woman's teeth.
Sandra Green, as administrator of Frances Mays' estate, filed a lawsuit on Feb. 26 in the Philadelphia County District Court against The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Co., doing business as Pathmark, citing negligence.
Green claims Mays bought and ate mozzarella sticks that caused her multiple dental injuries from the defendant, 176 W. Chelten Ave. in Philadelphia. The suit alleges after eating one bite of the mozzarella sticks, Mays fractured her left front tooth, was required to get a partial bridge for her front teeth and sustained lip and mouth lacerations.
The suit also states that Mays' death on May 25, 2013, was unrelated to the incident.
Green is seeking damages in excess of the arbitration limits of Philadelphia County, interest and court costs. The case is being represented by Philadelphia attorney Timothy R. Hough, of Jaffe and Hough.
