A grieving husband is suing those involved with his wife's medical care she received after a skiing accident.
Brian Durfy, as administrator of the estate of Ingrid Clark, filed a lawsuit Feb. 28 in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas against Alan T. Forstater M.D., David Yellin Morley. M.D., Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Inc., Jefferson University Physicians and Thomas Jefferson University, doing business as Jefferson Medical College, citing negligence and wrongful death.
The lawsuit states Clark sustained a knee injury while skiing in Vail, Co. on March 26, 2012, and was taken to Vail Valley Medical Center, where she had surgery. She returned to Philadelphia, but began to complain about dizziness and nausea. She was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital on May 16, 2012, was treated and discharged, according to the complaint. She collapsed on May 31, 2012, taken to Cape Regional Medical Center in cardiac and respiratory arrest and died. The complaint states she died of a pulmonary embolism that doctors should have diagnosed.
Durfy is seeking damages in excess of applicable arbitration limits. He is being represented by Robert E. Morris.
