A Philadelphia man who sustained multiple injuries after colliding with a lawnmower while
riding his bicycle has filed a civil suit against Philadelphia, the Fairmount Park Commission and a private landscaping company.
In a lawsuit filed at the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, Jeremy Cox claims the city's negligence caused the accident on Aug. 29, 2013. According to the complaint, Cox rode his bicycle on the Schuylkill River Trail near the Chestnut Street Bridge as an employee of Minority Services, Inc., was operating the lawnmower.
The two collided, throwing Cox from his bicycle, the suit claims. It also states that Cox sustained several injuries, including headaches, loss of some cognitive functions, facial lacerations, back, neck and joint pain. The plaintiff claims that the results of the accident will have long term medical costs and the loss of future personal income.
The plaintiff is being represented by Robert S. Miller.
