A Montgomery County woman says she suffered severe injuries when a Maryland flooring company's delivery truck rear-ended her car two years ago, according to a civil suit filed in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.

Barbara Winters, of Ambler, Pa., seeks damages in excess of $50,000 from Floor Systems, Inc, located in Huntingtown, Md., its owner, Danielle Murphy and the truck driver Todd Crampton. She alleges that negligence on the part of the driver and the company that employed him were directly responsible for injuries to Winters' head and neck, resulting in drooping and weakness in her right shoulder, and a cervical sprain.

The complaint says that on June 1, 2012, Winters stopped her Dodge Caravan at mile marker 340 on Interstate 76 in Philadelphia because of traffic. She claims that Crampton did not stop his truck in time, crashing into the rear of the plaintiff's car, which then collided with the vehicle in front of her.

Winters claims that Crampton's negligence included his failure to keep a proper lookout at surrounding traffic patterns and taking evasive action to avoid an accident, plus operating the truck in a reckless and dangerous manner with little regard to the plaintiff's safety.

According to the claim, Winters has incurred costly medical expenses while suffering a loss of earning potential because of physical limitations caused by the accident.

The plaintiff is represented by John Craynock out of West Chester, Pa.

The case ID number is 14050240.
