Cautionsign

A Philadelphia woman is suing a casino and resort group over claims of negligence that allegedly resulted in an accident that left her injured.

Syreeta Melton filed a complaint Sept. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Caesars Entertainment Corp., The Linq Hotel & Casino, and The Quad Resort and Casino, alleging negligence.

On Sept. 17, 2013, the complaint states, while staying at The Quad in Paradise, Nev., Melton was walking down the hallway to her room on the fourth floor when she suddenly tripped and fell due to the worn condition of the hallway carpet.

The complaint states the defendants were negligent in failing to maintain the carpet in a safe condition, among other negligent acts or omissions.

As a result, Melton suffered injuries to her head, neck, back, shoulders, arms, legs, torso and extremities, for which she has incurred medical expenses.

Melton seeks a judgment of more than $75,000. She is represented by Marina Kats of Kats, van der Veen & Associates in Feasterville, Pa.
