A Georgia couple is suing a Lowe's alleging that the husband was severely injured when he fell through the roof while removing snow.
Michael and Casey Holt filed a complaint on Sep. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against Lowe's Companies Inc., alleging negligence.
Holt purports that on Feb. 18, 2014, while completing a routine snow removal job for the Lowe's of Montoursville, the roof fell through, causing Holt to fall 15 feet to the concrete below. Upon impact, Holt was injured catastrophically and paralyzed. Holt alleges that Lowe's was negligent in failing to maintain the roof's standard safety conditions, in failing to warn Holt of the risk and in failing to complete repairs to the roof in the years prior to the incident. As a result, Holt has suffered loss of ability to move, loss of ability to work and has lost enjoyment of life.
Holt is demanding justice and seeking compensation of an unspecified amount for all damages suffered, physical, legal and emotional. Holt is represented by Jeffrey P. Ward of Cohen and Grimsby, P. C. of Pittsburgh.
