Man sues Novo Nordisk following termination

Harassment

PITTSBURGH – A man is suing his former employer alleging that he was terminated for opposition to sexually inappropriate conduct.

Chris Marucci, an Allegheny County resident, filed a complaint on Oct. 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Novo Nordisk Inc., alleging retaliation and violation of the Pennsylvania Wage Payment and Collection Act.

Marucci purports that during his more than eight years of employment at Novo Nordisk, he was an exemplary employee who received recognition for his work. On two dates in May and July 2014, Marucci states he was in opposition to sexual harassment he witnessed in the workplace. After these events, Marucci allegedly was the victim of isolation and discrimination in his workplace, eventually leading to termination on Aug. 27, 2014, according to the claim. Marucci alleges that the defendant was unjust in its retaliation and that it was illegal for his wages and benefits to be negatively affected because of his propriety.

Marucci is seeking compensation for all legal expenses, as well as for loss of benefits and employment. He is represented by Dennis M. Moskal of the Law Offices of Dennis M. Moskal LLC in Pittsburgh.
